Postgame Notes
- The Hoosiers improved to 14-4 on the season and 4-3 in the Big Ten with an 82-74 victory on the road at Nebraska on Saturday night. The Hoosiers lead the all-time series 14-7 and this is the first time since 2015-16 that Indiana has swept the season series.
- After falling behind, 28-20, the Hoosiers went on a 12-2 run, capped off with five-straight points by freshman guard Armaan Franklin to give the Hoosiers a 32-30 lead with 5:56 remaining in the first half.
- The Hoosiers went on a 9-0 run that ended with IU's largest lead of the first half, 42-34, at the 2:25 point on a freshman forward Trayce Jackson-Davis layup.
- Indiana opened the second half on a 6-0 run to take a 52-41 lead on a redshirt junior Joey Brunk jumper, which forced a Cornhusker timeout at the 17:51 mark. The Hoosiers opened up the half shooting 4-of-4 from the floor.
- IU extended its second-half run to 13-2 before the first media timeout on 6-of-7 shooting to take a 59-43 lead at the 15:49 mark.
- Indiana extended their run further to 16-2 in the second half and took their largest lead of the night on a junior forward Justin Smith 3-pointer, 62-43, at the 14 minute point.
- After the Cornhuskers cut the lead to six, a layup by Smith with 48 seconds remaining and two free throws by Jackson-Davis with 27 seconds left put the game away for Indiana.
- IU hit six 3-pointers in the first half, which is tied for the most three pointers in a half this season (North Alabama, Nov. 12, 2019 and Louisiana Tech, Nov. 25, 2019).
- The Hoosiers had 21 assists on 31 made field goals, which is tied for their most in a game this season (Troy, Nov. 16, 2019).
- Indiana outrebounded Nebraska, 48-30, and added 15 second-chance points. The Hoosiers scored 40 of their points in the paint.
- IU's defense held Nebraska to 25-of-63 shooting (39.7 percent), while the Hoosier offense went 31-of-61 (50.8 percent).
- Indiana had three players in double figures, Jackson-Davis (18), Brunk (16) and Smith (15).
- Jackson-Davis recorded his sixth double-double of the season finishing with team-highs of 18 points and 13 rebounds, while dishing out four assists.
- Brunk tied his career-high in field goals made (7) as he scored 16 points and grabbed five boards, while dishing out two assists.
- Smith scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while dishing out two assists in 32 minutes.
- Freshman guard Armaan Franklin tallied eight points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists, while recording a block and a steal.
- Junior guard Aljami Durham scored seven points and dished out an assist.
- Redshirt freshman Jerome Hunter scored six points on 2-of-3 shooting from behind the arc.
- Sophomore guard Rob Phinisee scored five points and dished out four assists.
- Senior forward De'Ron Davis scored four points on 2-of-2 shooting and grabbed three rebounds for the Hoosiers.
- Senior guard Devonte Green scored three points, while grabbing four rebounds and dishing out four assists.
- Redshirt sophomore Race Thompson grabbed three rebounds.
- The Hoosiers will return home at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23 when Michigan State comes to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
