The Hoosiers fell to 11-3 on the season and 1-2 in the Big Ten with a 75-59 loss on the road to the Maryland Terrapins on Saturday. Indiana leads the all-time series 8-7.
Indiana jumped out to an early 16-11 lead at the 9:30 point in the first half on a senior guard Devonte Green 3-pointer. This was the largest lead for the Hoosiers in the game.
After trailing 33-22, the Hoosiers went on an 11-3 run that was capped off by a redshirt junior forward Joey Brunk layup at the 14:17 point of the second half to cut the deficit to 36-33.
Green was the only Hoosier to score in double figures with 18 points. He also grabbed three rebounds and dished out two assists.
Brunk nearly had a double-double finishing with nine points and 10 rebounds including seven offensive boards.
Freshman forward Trayce Jackson-Davis scored seven points for the Hoosiers and grabbed five rebounds for the Hoosiers, while recording a team-high three blocks.
Junior forward Justin Smith tallied seven points and grabbed five rebounds.
Senior forward De'Ron Davis tied his season high in points with six and grabbed three rebounds.
Junior guard Aljami Durham tallied five points for Indiana and grabbed four rebounds.
Redshirt sophomore Race Thompson made his second-career 3-pointer and grabbed three rebounds in 11 minutes.
Freshman guard Armaan Franklin scored two points for Indiana.
Sophomore guard Rob Phinisee scored two points and grabbed three rebounds.
Sophomore forward Damezi Anderson recorded 16 minutes of playing time.
Redshirt freshman Jerome Hunter saw three minutes of playing time.
The Hoosiers will return home to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8 against Northwestern.
