De'Ron Davis Will Play Professionally in Ireland

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Former Indiana Men's Basketball big man De'Ron Davis, who is the first member of his family to earn a college degree, will begin his professional career in Ireland after signing with the Killester Dublin Basketball Club. Davis graduated this past May with a degree in Sport Communication.
The Hoosiers began their recruitment of the Colorado native in his freshman year of high school. He was the No.35 ranked player in the country as a senior and Mr. Basketball in Colorado after leading Overland High School to back-to-back state titles his last two seasons.
At IU, Davis was plagued by injuries after suffering a torn Achilles tendon in January of his sophomore year. He was averaging a career-high 9.6 points and 4.3 rebounds while shooting 61.5% from the floor at the time of his injury. As a senior, he tied a school record by making all nine of his field goal attempts at Michigan (matching Will Sheehey's 9-for-9 effort in 2013 against Purdue.
For his career, he finished 10th all-time at IU in field goal percentage making 54.7% of his career shots. He started 23 times in his career and finished with 590 points and 287 rebounds.
Killester BC was founded in 1967 and has won the Irish men's national league eight times and the Irish men's national cup five times. Former NBA Champion Mario Elie began his professional career with Killester.
His classmate Devonte Green is playing for Charilaos Trikoupis of the Greek Basketball League.
