Postgame Notes
December 19, 2020
• Sophomore Armaan Franklin poured in a career-high 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including 5-of-7 from the 3-point line. He added three assists, two rebounds and two steals. He is the first Hoosier to knock down at least five 3-pointers in back-to-back games since James Blackmon Jr. did so in 2017 (5 vs. Penn State and 6 vs. Michigan State).
• In three career games at Banker's Life Fieldhouse, Franklin has averaged 16.7 points on 12-of-17 (70.6%) from the 3-point line. IU is 3-0 in those games.
• Sophomore Trayce Jackson-Davis compiled 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting, eight rebounds and a career-best five blocked shots. TJD has tallied at least 20 points four times this season and 10th time in his two seasons with the Cream and Crimson.
• Senior Aljami Durham scored 11 points to go along with a career-best eight rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal.
• Redshirt junior Race Thompson secured 10 points and seven rebounds.
• Junior Rob Phinisee scored three points and added three assists in his starting role.
• Sophomore Jerome Hunter knocked in a 3-pointer in the second half after playing 13 minutes off the bench.
• Freshman Trey Galloway and freshman Khristian Lander each played roles off the bench.
• Indiana had 19 assists on 25 made field goals in the win, including 10 assists on 11 made buckets in the first half.
• IU holds the best record in the Crossroads Classic at 7-3 and have won 6-of-7 and four in a row in the four-team event.
• After heading into the half with a five-point deficit, the Hoosier defense put the clamps on the Bulldogs. Butler scored 23 points on 8-of-30 shooting from the floor.
• Butler's 60 points scored was the lowest output by an Indiana opponent in the Classic since holding Notre Dame to 58 points in a 69-58 victory in 2011.
• IU outscored Butler 34-20 in the paint and 10-3 in fastbreak points.
• Indiana trailed 40-34 at the 18:40 mark in the second half before reeling of a 13-0 run to take command of the game, 47-40, at the 12:58 mark. Indiana never relinquished the lead.
