Elle Hillers Q&A
What's your favorite way to spend a day off?
I love to go on hikes with my friends and eat at my favorite restaurant in Bloomington, Da Vinci. Of course I always can use the time to get ahead on homework for the upcoming week and catch up on some sleep.
What surprised you the most about being a student-athlete at IU?
I was surprised by the abundant opportunities provided by IU athletics in order to help athletes succeed in all areas of life.
If you weren't playing volleyball at IU, what sport would you play?
I love this question! My dad always said I would have been a great golfer! I'm not so sure of that, but I definitely love the idea.
Who is one of your role models and why?
One of my role models is Victoria Garrick, she was an amazing volleyball player at USC and uses her platform to spread positivity to young girls.
Do you have any prematch rituals? If so, what are they?
I do. Before any match or practice my friends and I have a dance party to get ourselves pumped up to play.
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you win a gold medal at?
Eating. I can out eat anyone, anytime, anywhere.
Outside of volleyball, what's something you're passionate about and why?
Outside of volleyball I am super passionate about learning. I love learning new perspectives of life through communicating with people from different backgrounds. I think it is super important to understand other people's views so that you can form your own.
Why did you choose to attend IU?
There is no question that the coaching staff and other girls that I met had a huge impact on my decision. They are amazing! I also fell in love with Bloomington and the IU campus. It immediately felt like home.
