Britt Soudan Q&A
What's your favorite way to spend a day off?
My favorite way to spend a day off would be grabbing coffee at a small coffee shop, exploring new parts of Bloomington, and spending time with friends.
What surprised you the most about being a student-athlete at IU?
The thing that surprised me most about being a student-athlete at IU is how much my team becomes another family for me. The ups and downs we have experienced have brought us so close together and have created such strong bonds. We all share a mutual trust and support for one another and I think that's a very special thing.
If you weren't playing volleyball at IU, what sport would you play?
If I weren't playing volleyball at IU I would want to play tennis. I have never played tennis competitively but I have always enjoyed playing it for fun with family and I think it would be a great sport to be good at.
Who is one of your role models and why?
One of my role models is Victoria Garrick, a former libero at USC. I really admire her mentality towards sports and I love the way the she played. I think she is a very inspiring person that is doing great things.

Do you have any prematch rituals? If so, what are they?
Something I like to do before a match is to pick a personal goal and a team goal that I want to focus on, whether it's having an aggressive serve or a ton of energy, it's something I started to do in high school and have done it since.
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you win a gold medal at?
I think I could be the Michael Phelps of ice cream eating. I really can eat absurd amounts of ice cream.
Outside of volleyball, what's something you're passionate about and why?
I am really passionate about giving back to the community. I think that big or small, acts of kindness and charity go a long way.
Why did you choose to attend IU?
I chose Indiana because of the competitive athletic atmosphere with the Big Ten, the multitude of unique academic opportunities and a campus that is beautiful year round.
