The Hoosiers went on the road Wednesday to play the Minnesota Golden Gophers and improved to 17-9 on the season and 7-8 in the Big Ten with a 68-56 victory.
After trailing 23-13, senior guard Devonte Green's 3-pointer with 10:37 remaining in the first half sparked a 6-0 run that helped the Hoosiers claw to 23-19 at the 9:14 mark.
Two free throws by Green put the Hoosiers up for good with 14:34 left in the game, 39-38. Green followed by hitting a 3-pointer on the next possession as part of a 7-0 IU run.
With the Hoosiers leading only 60-56, IU went on an 8-0 run, capped off by a freshman forward Trayce Jackson-Davis layup with :59 remaining to seal off the win, 68-56.
Jackson-Davis recorded his eighth double-double of the season and Indiana has won all eight of those games.
The Hoosier defense held the Golden Gophers to 21-of-61 (34.4 percent) from the floor and 4-of-25 (16.0 percent) from behind the arc.
IU outscored Minnesota 10-0 in second chance points, 23-9 in bench points and 34-24 in points in the paint.
The Hoosiers had two players score in double figures on Wednesday: Jackson-Davis (27) and Green (11).
Jackson-Davis finished the game with career highs in points with 27 and rebounds with 16, while recording his eighth double-double of the season.
Green tallied 11 points on the night, while hitting three 3-pointers and dishing out two assists.
Redshirt sophomore Race Thompson put up nine points and grabbed a career-high 10 boards in 25 minutes of action.
Junior guard Aljami Durham scored seven points, while dishing out four assists in 23 minutes.
Sophomore guard Rob Phinisee scored six points and dished out a team-high six assists, while recording two steals.
Junior forward Justin Smith tallied five points and five rebounds in 32 minutes.
Senior forward De'Ron Davis scored three points and grabbed a rebound in 10 minutes.
Redshirt junior Joey Brunk picked up two rebounds for IU.
Redshirt freshman Jerome Hunter recorded a block and a steal for the Hoosiers.
Freshman forward Armaan Franklin picked up nine minutes of action.
The Hoosiers return back to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall after their two-game road trip at Noon on Sunday, Feb. 23 to face No. 9 Penn State.
