Postgame Notes
- The Hoosiers went on the road to Purdue Thursday and fell to 18-10 on the season and 8-9 in the Big Ten with a 57-49 loss.
- IU opened the game with a 7-2 lead at the 15:54 point of the first half after Purdue scored the opening basket. All seven points came from Hoosier big men, redshirt junior Joey Brunk and freshman Trayce Jackson-Davis.
- After trailing 36-20, the Hoosiers went on a 10-2 run, capped off by five-straight sophomore guard Rob Phinisee points to force a Purdue timeout with 10:33 remaining in the game.
- A five-point possession and a layup on the next possession by redshirt sophomore Race Thompson with 3:04 remaining in the game helped Indiana cut the deficit to 48-42. IU held the Boilermakers scoreless for 3:31 during that stretch.
- IU's defense held Purdue to 21-of-56 (37.5 percent) from the floor and for the third-straight game the Hoosiers allowed the lowest 3-point shooting efficiency of the season as the Boilermakers only shot 2-of-17 (11.8 percent) from behind the arc.
- Senior guard Devonte Green was the lone Hoosier to score in double figures with 11 points, while grabbing four boards.
- Junior forward Justin Smith finished with eight points and four rebounds.
- Phinisee tallied seven points for IU, while grabbing three boards and dishing out an assist.
- Thompson scored six points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, while also adding a team high in steals with two.
- Jackson-Davis recorded six points and four rebounds, while picking up two blocks and a steal.
- Junior guard Aljami Durham tallied two points and three rebounds in 22 minutes
- Freshman guard Armaan Franklin tallied four points in nine minutes of action.
- Brunk scored four points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Hoosiers.
- Senior forward De'Ron Davis scored one point in nine minutes.
- Redshirt freshman Jerome Hunter picked up a steal in 14 minutes.
- The Hoosiers will finish out their regular-season road schedule at Illinois at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 1.
