Mau and Pollard Secure First Big Ten Weekly Award of the Season

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Big Ten Conference announced their weekly track & field athletes of the week. Kyle Mau and Maddy Pollard of Indiana Track & Field earned their first weekly accolades of the season on Wednesday afternoon.
Mau is coming off a weekend where he anchored the distance medley relay and also ran the 3000m. On Friday night, he ran the mile leg of the DMR and helped the team race to a second-place finish. Their time of 9:29.82 currently ranks third in the nation. In the 3000m, Mau cruised to meeting-winning time of 7:51.90. His time is the third-best 3000m ran in the nation so far this season.
On her final throw of the weekend, Pollard heaved a new personal best mark of 17.57m (57' 7.75") in the shot put. Her distance this past Saturday landed as the second-best mark of the season so far in the NCAA.
Indiana will return to action on Feb. 7 and 8 on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. The Meyo Invitational is set to begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7 inside the Loftus Sports Center.
