The Hoosiers finished out their road season on Sunday at Illinois against the Fighting Illini and fell to 18-11 on the season and 8-10 in the Big Ten with a 67-66 loss.
Illinois jumped out to a 20-16 lead but the Hoosiers responded with a 12-3 run of their own, capped off by a junior guard Aljami Durham and-one with 4:36 remaining in the first half to give IU a 28-23 lead.
After falling behind, 47-42, redshirt freshman Jerome Hunter hit back-to-back 3-pointers to regain the lead for the Hoosiers, 48-47, at the 12:53 mark of the second half.
For the fourth-straight game, Indiana has held its opponent to under five 3-pointers made with Illinois going 4-of-12 (33.3 percent) from behind the arc.
The Hoosiers had four players score in double figures on Sunday: Durham (13), freshman forward Trayce Jackson-Davis (12), senior guard Devonte Green (11) and sophomore guard Rob Phinisee (10).
Durham tallied a team-high 13 points and grabbed two rebounds.
Jackson-Davis picked up his 10th double-double of the year with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while recording two blocks and a steal.
Green scored 11 points, while dishing out a team-high three assists.
Phinisee recorded 10 points and five rebounds.
Junior forward Justin Smith scored eight points, while grabbing two boards and dishing out two assists.
Hunter hit consecutive threes in the second half for six points, while grabbing two rebounds and dishing out two assists.
Redshirt sophomore forward Race Thompson tallied two points, while grabbing three rebounds.
Redshirt junior forward Joey Brunk scored two points and recorded a rebound.
Senior forward De'Ron Davis tallied two points and picked up a board.
Freshman guard Armaan Franklin recorded five minutes of playing time.
The Hoosiers will come back to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4 to take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
