IUWBB Finishes 2019-20 Season Ranked In Both Major Polls

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Women's Basketball finished the 2019-20 season ranked in both major polls for the first time in program history.
The Hoosiers closed out the season at No. 20 in the Associated Press media poll and No. 22 in the USA Today/WBCA Coaches poll. They spent all 20 weeks of the season in the top 25 of the Associated Press poll while appearing in 19 weeks of the coaches poll. Prior to this season, IU had spent eight combined weeks in both national polls in its program's history.
The 2019-20 squad went 24-8 overall, setting a new program record for wins in a season. They also finished 13-5 in the Big Ten where it finished fourth and also set a new program record for wins in a conference season. The Hoosiers had a pair of ranked wins including over then No. 5/6 South Carolina in the Paradise Jam and on the road at No. 21 Miami. They were led by All-Big Ten first team selections in redshirt junior guard Ali Patberg and sophomore guard Grace Berger. Freshman forward Mackenzie Holmes earned a spot on the All-Big Ten Freshman team and junior guard Jaelynn Penn was an All-Big Ten honorable mention.
