Indiana Drops Series Finale to San Diego

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University baseball team fell to the San Diego Toreros, 13-5, on Sunday afternoon at Bart Kaufman Field in Bloomington, Ind.
With the loss, the Hoosiers fall to 8-5 on the season overall, while San Diego improves to 11-4 on the year.
KEY MOMENTS
• The Toreros took control of the game early, scoring the contest's first five runs.
• In the bottom of the fifth, LF Drew Ashley put the Hoosiers on the board with a solo home run off the scoreboard in left field. Three batters later, 1B Elijah Dunham cut the Toreros' lead to 5-2 with an RBI groundout.
• San Diego responded, however, scoring the game's next eight runs.
• In the bottom of the ninth with the bases loaded, RF Ethan Vecrumba lined a three-run triple to right-center field.
NOTABLES
• Dunham extended his reached-base streak to 31-games, while Ashley pushed his reached-base mark to 23-straight. CF Grant Richardson also extended his on-base streak to 16-consecutive games.
• Indiana left 13 runners on-base in the game.
• Out of the bullpen, RHP Connor Manous pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit with one strikeout.
