BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – In our fourth Q&A, IUHoosiers.com catches up with RHP David Platt. The freshman tied for the team lead with six appearances on the season, making one start while posting a 1-0 record.
Platt tossed two scoreless innings of relief against both No. 13 Ole Miss and Purdue, allowing just one hit with five strikeouts combined. He earned the win against Cincinnati on Mar. 11 in his first career start, allowing two runs, one earned, in five innings pitched, striking out four.
Q: Where are you at right now?
I'm back at home in Pennsylvania.
Q: How are you interacting with your teammates?
Texting and Zoom.
Q: What are you doing for workouts?
Coach Alli has been great and is sending us stuff we can do.
Q: What advice would you give your fellow Hoosiers during this time?
Stay safe and find ways to get better.
Q: What are you most looking forward to when you get back on the field/court/course?
Competing with my teammates.
Q: How has the adjustment gone to online classes?
It has been good since we have great academic support.
Q: What gives you encouragement and motivation during this time?
Knowing that things will return to normal eventually.
Q: What is something you and your family are doing to pass the time?
Movies and games.
Q: What shows are you watching?
A lot of different movies.
Q: What is your major and what are your future career plans?
Not sure yet.
