BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana women's golf junior Priscilla Schmid earned another accolade on Monday as she was named First Team All-Big Ten. She was also named WGCA All-American Honorable Mention last month.
Schmid becomes the first Hoosier to earn First Team honors since Elizabeth Tong did so in 2015. The native of Montevideo, Uruguay averaged a 71.18 in 11 rounds, which was on track to be the best season average in program history before an injury kept her out of the spring schedule and the season was ultimately shortened. Schmid twice earned Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Week accolades in the fall and came in at No. 21 in the final GolfStat player rankings.
Schmid captured the first tournament title of her career at the Landfall Tradition, carding a 7-under-par 209. She fired a 209 in two tournaments during the fall, tied for the second-best three-round score in program history. For her efforts in the fall, she came in ranked at No. 20 in the international Arnold Palmer Cup rankings.
For her career, Schmid currently has a 74.22 average, the second-best in program history.
In addition to Schmid, junior Mary Parsons also earned an accolade from the conference as she was named the team's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner.
