Princess Brinkley Named May Scholar Athlete Of The Month

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Redshirt Junior Princess Brinkley was named an IU Scholar-Athlete of the Month for May.
"Princess has shown an extreme commitment and focus to excelling in the hammer and weight throw." Indiana Track & Field Assistant Coach and Throw Coach Cory Martin said. "She has the same commitment and focus to her academics which has allowed her to succeed as both a student and athlete at Indiana University. Her ability to balance the demands as a student athlete prove the motivation and resolve it takes to be a student athlete here at IU."
Brinkley took eighth place in the weight throw with a mark of 19.71m (64' 8") at the 2020 Indoor Track & Field Big Ten Championships. She had a season best throw of 20.27m (66' 6") to take home the bronze medal at the Alex Wilson Invitational on Feb. 22. The Indianapolis, Ind. native is also the school record holder in the weight throw after heaving a mark of 21.53m (70' 7.75") during the 2018-19 season.
