
Q&A: Collin Hopkins

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – In our third Q&A, IUHoosiers.com catches up with senior C Collin Hopkins. In his first season with the Hoosiers, Hopkins appeared in all 15 games, earning 12 starts. Hopkins' best performance of the season came at No. 17 East Carolina on Feb. 28, totaling a season-best three hits to go with an RBI in the team's 11-5 road victory.
Q: Where are you at right now?
Nashville, Tennessee at home.
Q: How are you interacting with your teammates?
Via social media and texting, calling and Zoom.
Q: What are you doing for workouts?
Sprint work, catching drills, hitting and lifting smaller weights that I have.
Q: What advice would you give your fellow Hoosiers during this time?
Keep working and stay safe.
Q: What are you most looking forward to when you get back on the field/court/course?
Being around the coaches and players. It's such an amazing environment that we were able to build and I'm anxious to get back to it.
Q: How has the adjustment gone to online classes?
It is laxer, but a little bit more difficult to maintain a firm work ethic while you're going to class in pajamas.
Q: What gives you encouragement and motivation during this time?
The thought that the virus will be contained at some point and we'll continue as normal.
Q: What is something you and your family are doing to pass the time?
Board games.
Q: What shows are you watching?
Tiger King.
Q: What is your major and what are your future career plans?
My major is English and I plan to become a teacher.
