Q&A: Lanna Debow

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—In our fourth Q&A, IUHoosiers.com caught up with freshman utility Lanna Debow. In her freshman season with IU Water Polo, Debow played in 14 games, while tallying 11 goals, four assists and four steals.
Where are you at right now?
My home in Cincinnati, Ohio.
How are you interacting with your teammates?
We have Zoom calls with our team every day.
What advice would you give your fellow Hoosiers during this time?
Stay positive and control your controllables. We will all get through this.
What are you most looking forward to when you get back on the field/court/course?
I am looking forward to being back with my team. The girls are my family and I cannot wait to be back in Bloomington with them.
How has the adjustment gone to online classes?
The adjustment has been okay. I honestly feel like I have more work than I did when I was at school and it has been overwhelming. I am getting through it.
What gives you encouragement and motivation during this time?
My family and my team both. My family is helping me stay positive at home but my team is helping me to look towards the future and next season.
What is something you and your family are doing to pass the time?
We go on a lot of family walks and are doing activities around the house like painting rooms and cleaning. I am also going on bike rides and doing movie nights.
What shows are you watching?
I am watching Dance Moms, The Voice and Greys Anatomy.
What is your major and what are your future career plans?
My major is Speech and Hearing Sciences. My goal is to work either in a hospital or school with children who have disabilities or who have learning development issues.
