BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—In our fifth Q&A session, IUHoosiers.com caught up with freshman utility Katherine Hawkins. In 18 games this season, Hawkins produced nine goals and six assists to go along with five steals and 10 drawn exclusions.
Where are you right now?
I am in Lafayette, California living with my family.
How are you interacting with your teammates? What advice would you give your fellow Hoosiers during this time?
I've been staying in contact with my teammates through texting, FaceTime, and social media! I talk to a lot of them everyday, which is super nice. During this time, I think that it is super important to spend time with your loved ones because this is probably one of the only times when your life won't be going as fast as it normally does.
What are you most looking forward to when you get back in the water?
I'm just super excited to get back in shape and start working with my team again to achieve something great.
What gives you encouragement and motivation during this time?
I am super motivated when I think about what's to come for our team and how much potential we have. This motivates me to continue to work super hard, even if it can't be in the water right now.
What is something you and your family are doing in the past time?
We go on a lot of bike rides and hikes around our area!
What shows are you watching?
I am not currently watching any shows, but my family watches movies every night and I've gotten to see a lot of movies that I enjoy that I probably never would have thought to watch!
What is your major and what are your future career plans?
I am in the Media School majoring in broadcasting/communications. I would really like to pursue something in sports broadcasting in the future!
