BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – In our fifth Q&A, IUHoosiers.com catches up with OF Hunter Jessee. The freshman appeared in 14 games for Indiana in 2020, earning 12 starts.
The South Lebanon, Ohio native totaled two doubles, a triple, five RBI and seven runs scored on the year. Jessee had two hits, including a triple, in win at No. 11 LSU and recorded a double and two RBI in victory at No. 17 East Carolina.
Q: Where are you at right now?
I am currently at my home in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Q: How are you interacting with your teammates?
We have been doing a bunch of Zoom calls and staying in touch through our group chat.
Q: What are you doing for workouts?
I put together a squat rack and asked around for weights from my dad's coworkers, so it has just been business as usual for me.
Q: What advice would you give your fellow Hoosiers during the pandemic?
I would just say to stay safe and follow the guidelines. People much smarter than us are putting these things together, so let's just follow the rules so we can get back to normal as fast as possible.
Q: What are you most looking forward to when you get back on the field/court/course?
I'm just looking forward to competing with my boys. This team had a lot of fun and knew how to compete to the best of our abilities.
Q: How was the adjustment gone to online classes?
Just had to make sure and check canvas so I didn't miss any assignments.
Q: What gives you encouragement and motivation during the pandemic?
Just motivation to get better during this time. We won't ever get a time like this again where we have this much time, so focusing on myself has motivated me.
Q: What is something you and your family are doing to pass the time?
We have been playing a lot of cards and watching a lot of cooking shows.
Q: What shows are you watching?
The Office, Ozark, and the Michael Jordan documentary series.
Q: What is your major and what are your future career plans?
I am currently majoring in finance and I would like to work or the FBI in the future.
