
Four Hoosiers Make MLB Opening Day Rosters

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Four former Indiana University baseball standouts made their MLB teams' Opening Day 30-man rosters.
OF Kyle Schwarber and C Josh Phegley made the cut for the Chicago Cubs, while both LHP Caleb Baragar and OF Alex Dickerson made the roster of the San Francisco Giants.
The Giants will open the season on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers, while the Cubs open the season on Friday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
LHP Kyle Hart (Boston Red Sox), RHP Jonathan Stiever (Chicago White Sox) and RHP Aaron Slegers (Tampa Bay Rays) will start the season at their team's alternate sites.
The 2020 season will be played with a unique set of rules in regard to rosters. The 30 Major League Baseball teams submitted rosters and had up to 60 players for "Spring Training" in preparation for the 2020 season.
Up to 30 players will broke "camp" with the team, while the remainder will make up a "taxi squad" or be designated to the team's alternate site that will play scrimmages throughout the regular season and can be called up at any time by their respective teams.
The 2020 MLB season is scheduled for 60 games.
