IU Athletics Mourns Loss of Phil Westfall

Former Hoosier punter (1961-64) and current I Association President Phil Westfall passed away on July 24. Westfall earned letters from 1962-64.
A long-time member of the I Association Board of Directors, he served as second vice president in 2018 and vice president in 2019 and 2020 before assuming his role as president on July 1, 2020.
Westfall was a recipient of the Zora Clevenger Award in 2015, which is the highest honor a living I Man can receive. He also received the I Association's oldest honor, the 50-Year I Winner Award, in 2012.
A frequent visitor at football practice and season ticket holder, Westfall was 77 years old.
