
#MLSisBack Update – MLS is Back Tournament Knockout Stage Quarterfinals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – With 12 former Hoosiers securing spots on Major League Soccer rosters, Indiana is well represented in the restart of the league in Orlando, Fla. Throughout the remainder of the tournament, IUHoosiers.com will provide updates on these former Hoosier greats.
Tommy Thompson, San Jose Quakes
Thompson earned another start, his fourth in five total appearances of the restart, in the defensive backline for the Sam Jose Quakes. He earned 60 minutes of playing time before being subbed out. San Jose was eliminated from the tournament in a 4-1 loss to Minnesota United FC.

Mason Toye, Minnesota United FC
Toye did not see action in Minnesota United FC's 4-1 defeat of the San Jose Quakes.
Next Week: vs. Orlando City SC (Aug. 6) MLS is Back Tournament Knockout Stage Semifinals
At stake for Minnesota United FC: In a one-time change to MLS berths to the annual Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League, the MLS is Back Tournament winner will earn a spot in the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League, regardless of whether it is a U.S. or Canadian club. This berth replaces the one traditionally awarded to the regular-season conference leader that did not win the Supporters' Shield.
After the MLS is Back Tournament: Upon completion of the MLS is Back Tournament, MLS plans to continue its regular season with a revised schedule in home markets, followed by the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs and the 25th MLS Cup. The schedule will be developed at a later date.
