BLOOMINGTON, Ind.– Indiana wrestling redshirt junior Kyle Luigs has been named the male Scholar Athlete of the Month honoree from the IU athletic department.
Luigs, a student in the Kelley School of Business, is double majoring in accounting and finance at Indiana University and plans to go to law school after earning his undergraduate degree.
"Kyle successfully navigated the transition to fully online courses in the spring and excelled in each of his classes," Assistant Director of Academic Services Allen Kohn said. "On a consistent basis Kyle communicated with his professors and advisor to remain engaged in his class and academic commitments. With graduation right around the corner, Kyle has made it his mission to finish strong."
"It wasn't until I got to Indiana University and saw the emphasis that both the excellence academy and my coaches put on achieving high academic success, that I realized the significance of my performance within the classroom," Luigs said. "I sincerely believe that being a student-athlete has taught me how to stay disciplined and balance my time most efficiently. That has allowed me to achieve greater academic success."
