Catch up with Indiana Men's Basketball in the series "10 Questions." First up, redshirt senior and Indianapolis native Joey Brunk.
1. What is the one habit or trait you have picked up because of the pandemic that you will likely continue to employ when it is over?
I spent a lot more time golfing, fishing and reading. Still below average at golfing and fishing. Good reader, haha.
2. What teammate of yours is poised for a breakout year and why?
Rob and Race have looked great all summer and I'm excited for them.
3. Lakers or Heat?
Lakers...5 games
4. If someone asked you to describe what its like to play in the Big Ten, what would you tell them?
It's a very physical league with incredible venues and college towns. Every night is a fight!
5. What is the one song you want playing in your car on a long drive?
'Take It Easy' by the Eagles or 'Come Monday' by Jimmy Buffett.
6. When was the last time you were completely clean shaven?
I shaved my beard this spring after a short stint with just a mustache.
7. What was the first IU basketball game you attended? How old were you?
Went to IU games when I was in elementary school but to be at the "Wat Shot" game in person is something I'll never forget.
8. Name your favorite professional sports team in any sport?
Indianapolis Colts and St. Louis Cardinals.
9. What is your favorite sports memory that happened before you were 13 years old?
Won a little league championship and then made the all-star team. Can't hit a baseball, but I can go out and play first base if the Hoosiers need a defensive replacement in the late innings.
10. When IU was closed for the pandemic, where did you workout and did you train with anybody?
Basketball with Rob Blackwell and Jason Smeathers and I lifted at a gym with Derek DeVaughan who once competed as the World's Strongest Man.
