Postgame Notes
January 24, 2021
• Sophomore Armaan Franklin scored a team-high 14 points (4-of-11 from the floor) and made 3-of-4 shots from the 3-point line. He contributed three rebounds and three assists in 34 minutes.
• Sophomore Trayce Jackson-Davis scored 13 points to go along with a team-best seven rebounds. TJD added two steals and two blocks in 33 minutes.
• Redshirt junior Race Thompson finished with 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor and two rebounds in 31 minutes.
• Sophomore Jerome Hunter tallied nine points, all in the first half, on 3-of-6 shooting. He also grabbed one rebound and one steal off the bench.
• Senior Aljami Durham scored eight points, hauled in five rebounds and passed out two assists in 31 minutes.
• Junior Rob Phinisee tallied seven points, five assists, and three rebounds in 26 minutes.
• Freshman Khristian Lander matched his career-best effort with a pair of made 3-pointers in the second half. He finished the game with six points, the most he has scored in a Big Ten game this season, in 11 minutes off the bench.
• Freshman Jordan Geronimo scored two points, added one rebound and one assist in six minutes off the bench.
• Freshman Anthony Leal grabbed three rebounds and dished out three assists in 16 minutes of run.
• Indiana converted on 10-of-16 (62.5%) 3-point attempts in the game, the highest team percentage since also hitting 10-of-16 shots from deep against Chattanooga on March 17, 2016.
• The 10 made triples marks the most by a Hoosier team in a conference game since hitting 11 against Iowa on Feb. 13, 2020.
• The first half was a back-and-forth affair with each team going on extended scoring runs. Rutgers ran out to an early lead on the strength of a 10-0 before Indiana countered with an 8-0 run of its own. RU promptly answered with a 7-0 run before IU regained the lead with a 9-0 run. In total, the first half featured four ties and five lead changes.
• After hitting 16-of-29 (59.3%) from the floor in the first half, Rutgers made 11-of-26 (42.3%) shots in the second stanza. Indiana held Rutgers to 8-of-22 (36.4%) from the 3-point line in the game.
