Williams Tabbed For Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Big Ten Conference announced their weekly track & field honors on Wednesday and Indiana Track & Field's own Cooper Williams was named the Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week. This is the first weekly honor of season for the Hoosiers.
This past weekend Williams competed in the 800m and was the second leg of the men's 4x400m relay squad. He crossed the finish line first in the 800m with a time of 1:48.09. The time was good for the fastest time in the Big Ten and the third fastest in the NCAA so far this season. With the 4x400m relay, he aided the team to first place with a time of 3:16.63.
Up next, Indiana will see a spilt a weekend as the cross country season commences at the Big Ten Cross Country Championships. The championships are set for Jan. 30 in Shelbyville, Ind. with the women's race at 12:30 p.m. and the men's at 2 p.m. Another group of student-athletes will travel to Champaign, Ill. on Jan. 29 and 30 for a multi event hosted by Illinois.
