BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Big Ten Conference announced the men's and women's swimming and diving schedules for the 2021 season over the weekend.
The slate is scheduled for conference-only competition during the regular season and was created to ensure maximum flexibility. Meets can be conducted on Friday and/or Saturday and have the flexibility to utilize one or two day meet formats for tri-meets.
Both teams will open the '21 campaign by hosting a tri-meet against Michigan and Northwestern on Jan. 15-16. The following weekend, Jan. 22-23, IU will host Ohio State. The regular season will conclude with a tri-meet hosted by Purdue featuring the Hoosiers, Boilermakers and Rutgers Scarlett Knights on Feb. 5-6.
The Women's Big Ten Swimming Championships are currently scheduled for Feb. 24-27, while the men's will tentatively be held from March 3-6. The Big Ten Diving Championships will be held at a separate location on Feb. 24-27. Locations for all three events have yet to be determined.
Both the men's and women's NCAA Championships will be contested in Greensboro, N.C. The women's event will run from March 17-20 with the men competing from March 24-27.
In the latest CSCAA/TYR Top 25 Coaches Poll (released on Dec. 17, 2020), the Hoosier men are ranked No. 9 nationally, while the women check in at No. 20.
