Indiana Falls in Overtime to No. 24 Kent State

KENT, Ohio. – The Indiana Field Hockey team controlled most of the match on Sunday afternoon but dropped a close 2-1 contest to No. 24 Kent State to close out the Ohio-based weekend.
With the setback, IU falls to 7-7 (1-4) while Kent State goes to 8-4 (3-1) on the season.
KEY MOMENTS
• Senior forward Hailey Couch earned the first shot of the day, but she was turned away by the Kent State goalie.
• IU earned its first corner of the day in the first period but freshman defender Yip van Wonderen's shot was blocked away.
• On the second of back-to-back corners, sophomore forward Meghan Dillon tipped in a shot from redshirt sophomore defender Sydney Keld to take an early 1-0 lead.
• Freshman goalie Arabella Loveridge made consecutive saves in the second period to keep Kent State off the board
• IU earned a penalty corner late in the third period but freshman midfielder Kira Curland's attempt was blocked.
