IUVB Tumbles Against No. 11 Minnesota

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Volleyball (9-14, 3-8) wrapped up its final midweek match and were downed by No. 11 Minnesota (13-6, 8-3 Big Ten), 3-0 (20-25, 14-25, 16-25).
KEY MOMENTS
• Mady Saris saw the first kill of the night for the Hoosiers in set one but were still down 3-2 to Minnesota. With the Gophers taking control of the opening frame, Breana Edwards made it a two-point game with slam just before the media timeout.
• With Minnesota needing just a point to take the set, the Hoosiers saw a kill by Saris and forced the Gophers into two-straight errors to make it 24-20. Minnesota went on to get the quick point and took the opening set, 25-20.
• Down 9-3 in the second set, Indiana needed a timeout. Out of the break Saris found the floor and was followed by a quick swipe from Westbeld. Despite seeing a strong effort, Minnesota got the 25-14 set two victory.
• Edwards and Saris saw back-to-back kills in the third set to make it 4-3 Gophers.
• Indiana and Minnesota exchanged points that included kills from Savannah Kjolhede, Camryn Haworth and Saris as the game was tied at 15-15.
• It was all Minnesota for the rest of the frame as they won the final set, 25-16.
NOTABLES
• Senior outside hitter led the Indiana offense with eight kills. She also recorded a solo block.
• Freshman setter Camryn Haworth tallied 19 kills in the match against Minnesota.
• Junior defensive specialist Paula Cerame led the way in digs with 19.
• Freshman outside hitter Mady Saris put up two solo blocks.
