
IUWG Announces Two Signees

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana women's golf head coach Clint Wallman announced two additions to the signing class in Angela Arora and Alexis Florio on Friday.
"We are so excited for Alexis and Angela to be joining the IU Golf family. Both are amazing people and players and will add an instant punch to our lineup," said Wallman. "Angela is one of the top players in Canada and has a distinguished record of success. I expect her to be one of the top freshmen in the country. Alexis is one of the most decorated players in history of Columbia Women's Golf as well as one of the best in the Ivy League. Her experience and leadership, in addition to what she brings to the course, will have a huge impact on our program."
Angela Arora
Surrey, British Columbia, Canada
Frank Hurt Secondary School
Arora represented Team Canada on the National Junior Squad for three seasons. She also competed for the Canadian team at the 2019 World Junior Girls Championships, where she finished t-20th in the event.
She plans to major in business management. She is the daughter of Rampartap Singh and Rupa Arora.
Alexis Florio
Cranston, R.I.
Cranston West High School/Columbia University
Florio competed two seasons at Columbia University after playing four years for head coach Joe Salimeno at Cranston West High School in Rhode Island. At Columbia, she led the Lions in stroke average in each of her two seasons. She finished inside the top-25 of five of the seven events she competed in as a freshman. In the COVID-19 shortened 2019-20 season, Florio added two top-15 finishes in four tournaments. In 27 career collegiate rounds, she averaged a round score of 75.67.
She will have two years of eligibility remaining. She is the daughter of Peter and Denise Florio.
