• Indiana (3-0, 0-0) defeated St. John's 76-74 Wednesday night at Simon Skjodt to move to 3-1 all-time in the Gavitt Games.
• Junior/sophomore Trayce Jackson-Davis paced the way for IU with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
• Jackson-Davis became the 54th player in program history to score 1,000 points after hitting a pair from the line at the 16:32 mark in the second half.
• In tonight's contest, he recorded his 24th-career double-double. IU is now 19-5 all-time when he tallies a double-double.
• He has now scored in double figures in 28 of his last 29 games.
• Redshirt senior/junior Race Thompson tallied 15 points and picked up five boards and two assists.
• Senior/junior Miller Kopp poured in 12 points on 4-10 shooting from the floor.
• Kopp cracked double digits for the first time in an IU uniform.
• Despite battling foul trouble, senior/junior Xavier Johnson scored eight points and two rebounds.
• Freshman Tamar Bates scored 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor in a career-high 27 minutes.
• Bates tallied a new career-high in points (11) on the evening.
• Sophomore/freshman Jordan Geronimo tacked on seven points and five rebounds in just eight minutes of play.
• Graduate/junior Parker Stewart hit a first-half three pointer for a total of three points.
• Sophomore/freshman Khristian Lander tallied two points in reserve.
• Senior/junior Rob Phinisee played 18 minutes and tallied two assists and a rebound.
• Sophomore/freshman Trey Galloway played four minutes but didn't return after he drew a flagrant-two foul in the first half.
• Senior/junior Michael Durr played three minutes.
• IU opened the game on a 12-7 run before a Montez Mathis three cut the lead down to two points heading into the under-16 timeout in the first half.
• St. John's was held scoreless for a 6:44 stretch in the middle of the first half. IU used that to its advantage, going up 18-10 until a made free throw by the Red Storm at the 7:43 mark in the first half
• The Red Storm's Montez Mathis was assessed a flagrant-two foul on after attempting to challenge Galloway on a breakaway layup. Kopp hit the ensuing two free throws and Bates scored on the possession awarded following the ejection of Mathis.
• The Hoosiers took a 39-27 lead into the break after shooting 51.6% from the field in the first half.
• IU held St. John's to just 33.3 shooting in the first half and 25.0% from behind the arc.
•After a goaltending call, St. John's cut the lead to just three with under 13 minutes to play in the game.
• With 8:49 in the game, the Red Storm came all the way back to tie the game.
• IU with a 7-0 run over 1:33 in the second half to take a seven-point lead at 63-56.
• Thompson's 14th and 15th points of the game on a runner through the lane gave IU the three-point lead with just 25 seconds left.
• St. John's came into the ballgame averaging 105 points but left with just 74 on the scoreboard.
• IU shot 52% on the evening and grabbed 36 points in the paint.
• The Hoosiers led for 37:49 minutes of the game and trailed for just 32 seconds.
• IU has now won six straight contests against teams currently a part of the Big East.
