• The Hoosier Classic began Sunday evening as Indiana (4-0, 0-0) beat Louisiana (3-1, 0-0) 76-44 on Sunday evening at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
• In the other matchup of the Hoosier Classic, Marshall defeated Jackson State 80-66.
• IU will take on Jackson State Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall before meeting Marshall on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
• IU held Louisiana scoreless over multiple four-minute plus stetches during the first half. Louisiana had scoreless droughts of 4:00 and 4:44 as IU's defense intensified in the opening half.
• Louisiana succumbed to a 0-of-25 stretch from the field lasting 13:44 in the first half of play.
• The Hoosiers held Louisiana to 12% shooting (4-34) from the field and 10% (1-10) from behind the arc in the first half. The Ragin' Cajuns also turned the ball over eight times in the first interval.
• The 14 points conceded by IU in the first half ties the fewest the team has given up since March 2, 2013, against Iowa. It is the fewest outright the team has given up since Dec. 28, 1999, when it held Holy Cross to just 11 first-half points.
• Louisiana came into the game averaging 77.0 ppg. but could only muster 44 points in Bloomington.
• The Hoosiers led for 39:40 of the game. The score was tied for just 20 seconds and Louisiana never saw a lead in the ballgame.
• On the evening, Louisiana shot just 19%, the lowest shooting percentage by an opponent since at least 1996-1997.
• The 44 points Louisiana scored was the fewest IU has conceded since November 9, 2019, against Montana State (35).
• IU outrebounded Louisiana 47-37 and added 32 points off the bench.
• The Hoosiers shot 76.9% (10-13) from the free-throw line.
• Graduate/junior Parker Stewart scored a team and game-high 16 points. He was 4-5 from behind the line.
• The 16 points he scored was his most ever in an IU jersey.
• Junior/sophomore Trayce Jackson-Davis poured in 11 points and grabbed seven boards.
• He has now scored in double figures in 29 of his last 30 games.
• Freshman Tamar Bates scored 10 points while adding three assists and two rebounds.
• He's now scored in double figures in back-to-back contests.
• Redshirt senior/junior Race Thompson tallied eight points and eight boards across 19 minutes of action.
• Senior/junior Miller Kopp had seven points including two-key threes. He also grabbed seven rebounds in 30 minutes of action.
• Sophomore/freshman Khristian Lander tallied a season-high nine points, six assists and six rebounds.
• Those six assists and six rebounds are also both career highs.
• Sophomore/freshman Anthony Leal tallied five points in seven minutes off the bench.
• Junior/sophomore Nathan Childress made his first appearance of the season. He hit his first-career basket and grabbed a career-high four rebounds.
• Sophomore/freshman Jordan Geronimo added three points, six rebounds and an assist in a career-high 21 minutes.
• Senior/junior Xavier Johnson had two points, three rebounds and six assists.
• Senior/junior Michael Durr put up two points in 11 minutes.
