• Indiana (6-0, 0-0) defeated Marshall (4-2, 0-0) on Saturday night at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall to win the Hoosier Classic.
• In the other matchup today of the Hoosier Classic, Jackson State defeated Louisiana 75-70.
• This was the first time IU scored 90 or more points in a regulation contest since it put up 100 against Troy on November 16, 2019.
• IU went on a 13-2 run over 2:50 in the first half. Marshall went on a 17-0 run to take a 34-22 lead with 6:00 to go in the first half.
• This is the second time this season that the Hoosiers have scored 40 or more points in the first half of play.
• The Hoosiers shot 58% from the floor and 53% from behind the arc. In the last 3 games, IIU has shot 53.1% from the floor and 49.0% from long distance.
• IU led for 27:14 in the game and scored 50 points in the paint.
• The last time IU started a season 6-0 was in 2019-2020 when the Hoosiers started the campaign 8-0.
• With the win, Mike Woodson is now 6-0 in his first season in charge of IU. The last time a coach started 6-0 in his IU career was Branch McCracken in 1938-1939 when he started 7-0.
• Junior/sophomore Trayce Jackson-Davis poured in a career-high 43 points in the victory.
• His 43 points were the most ever scored in Assembly Hall. It was also the most points scored in a single game by an IU player since Mike Woodson scored 48 points on March 3rd, 1979. Steve Alford held the record of 42 which he established in 1987 against Michigan State. Ted Kitchel scored 40 at home against Illinois in 1981.
• In the process, he also set a career high for field goals made in a game with 18.
• This was the most field goals made by one IU player in a single game since Mike Woodson tallied 18 made baskets on March 3rd, 1979.
• Jackson-Davis has now scored in double figures in 31 of his last 32 games.
• His 22 first-half points is the most Jackson-Davis has scored in a single half in his IU career.
• This also his first 40-point game of his career.
• Jackson-Davis became the first player in the NCAA to score 40 points and tally five blocks and five rebounds in the same game since Chris Kaman (Central Michigan)in 2003.
• Senior/junior Xavier Johnson scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds and seven assists.
• His 20 points were the most he's tallied in his IU career.
• Redshirt senior/junior Race Thompson added eight points and grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds. He now has 8 career double-digit rebound efforts in his career and 3 this season.
• Freshman Tamar Bates tallied six points and one assist in 24 minutes of action off the bench.
• Graduate/junior Parker Stewart also scored six points and grabbed seven rebounds.
• Senior/junior Miller Kopp put in five points and tallied two rebounds and two assists.
• Sophomore/freshman Khristian Lander added two points off the bench.
• Sophomore/freshman Jordan Geronimo played seven minutes.
• Senior/junior Michael Durr played three minutes.
