Bezerra Bags Team of the Week Selection

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – After scoring the opening goal in Indiana's NCAA Tournament Third Round match at No. 2 Washington, Victor Bezerra was selected to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week on Tuesday (Nov. 30).

Despite a 3-2 IU defeat, Bezerra applied consistent pressure to the Husky backline. The junior from Chicago earned a penalty in the 29th minute as a defender brought him down in the box. Bezerra buried his effort from the spot, striking a low shot with pace into the bottom corner.

With the goal, Bezerra ended his season with goals in back-to-back matches after he had tallied the opener in IU's NCAA Tournament Second Round matchup with Bowling Green. Bezerra collected a team-best eight goals during the 2021 season and has totaled 28 goals during his career in cream and crimson.
