• IU has now won 22 of its last 23 season openers. It moves to 75-12 all-time against the MAC.
• Junior/sophomore Trayce Jackson-Davis scored a game-high 21 points while tallying 14 rebounds and three blocks on Tuesday evening.
• This was Jackson-Davis 23rd career double-double. IU is now 18-5 when Jackson-Davis records a double-double in his career.
• The Preseason-All American Jackson-Davis moved into 55th all-time in career points with 970 points. He passes Isiah Thomas on the all-time list.
• This was the 10th game of his career that Jackson-Davis scored at least 20 points and grabbed at least 10 rebounds.
• Senior/junior Xavier Johnson put up 14 points on 4-9 shooting in his first career game for IU. Johnson hit a team-high five free throws in his 25 minutes of action.
• Senior/junior Rob Phinisee added seven points over 26 minutes of play.
• Graduate/junior Parker Stewart hit two three-point baskets in his first action in an IU uniform. He finished with six points over 27 minutes.
• Freshman Tamar Bates got his first run of play in his IU career. He tallied six points of the bench in 15 minutes of action.
• Sophomore/freshman Jordan Geronimo registered four points and grabbed four rebounds across 15 minutes off the bench.
• Senior/junior Miller Kopp had three points and three rebounds in his IU debut.
• Redshirt senior/junior Race Thompson grabbed 10 rebounds and scored five points in a starting role.
• Sophomore/freshman Trey Galloway scored two points and added two rebounds and an assist on Tuesday evening.
• The first basket of season came on a three from the arc by Parker Stewart
• IU started the game on 10-0 run. The first Eastern Michigan points came at the 12:39 mark in the first half.
• After Eastern Michigan cut the lead to 12-10, IU went on a 9-0 run heading into the under-8 media timeout
• The 19 points Eastern Michigan scored in the first half was the fewest conceded by IU in a single half since the first half on November 25, 2020, against Tennessee Tech (19).
• IU's biggest lead of the game came at the 18:13 mark in the second half when IU went up 21 with a 40-19 advantage.
• Jackson-Davis scored 10-straight points for IU during a 6:45 span in the second half.
• Four bench players combined to score 19 points with Phinisee leading the way in reserve with seven.
• IU tallied 32 points in the paint, 10 of those coming off dunks.
• IU now leads 5-0 in the all-time series following the 68-62 win on Tuesday evening.
• The Hoosiers out-rebounded Eastern Michigan 43-42 while forcing 13 turnovers.
• This was head coach Mike Woodson's first career win as the coach of IU.
