• Indiana (8-2, 1-1) beat Merrimack (4-8, 0-0), 81-49, on Sunday afternoon at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
• This was the first ever meeting between Indiana and Merrimack.
• Indiana is now 8-1 when controlling the opening tip and 6-0 when scoring first this season.
• The Hoosiers shot 51.2% from the floor while making 31.3% of their 3-point attempts.
• The Indiana defense forced Merrimack to 29.6% shooting from the field.
• Indiana owned the glass, outrebounding Merrimack, 54-16.
• In the second half, Indiana outscored 45-19.
• Indiana's bench accounted for 34 points.
• The Indiana defense only allowed Merrimack to convert on four two-point field goals in the first half.
• Merrimack's offense was held to 49 points, eight points under its season average of 56.7 points per game.
• The Hoosiers will face Notre Dame at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis as part of the Crossroads Classic.
• Junior/Sophomore Trayce Jackson-Davis led the Hoosiers with 16 points on five-of-10 shooting from the field and a 6-of-6 performance from the free throw line.
• Jackson-Davis also recorded nine rebounds and three blocks. He has accounted for multiple blocks in nine of the ten games this season.
• Jackson-Davis has reached double-digit scoring figures in nine of the ten games this season and in 35 of his last 37 games dating back to the 2020-2021 season.
• Redshirt Senior/Redshirt Junior Race Thompson had 14 points on 6-of-6 shooting. This is his fourth straight game scoring in double digits.
• Sophomore/Freshman Jordan Geronimo had a career-high in points and rebounds with 13 of each. This was his first career double-double.
• Senior/Junior Xavier Johnson accounted for nine points, four assists, and two rebounds.
• Senior/Junior Miller Kopp scored eight points and was 2-of-2 from the 3-point line in the process. This is his fourth game this season where he has multiple 3-point shots in a game.
• Freshman Tamar Bates added seven points, four rebounds, an assist, and a steal in 19 minutes of action.
• Senior/Junior Michael Durr had his highest scoring total as a Hoosier with five points while grabbing three rebounds as well.
• Freshman Logan Duncomb made his second appearance of his collegiate career and also scored his first career points. He had four points on a midrange jump shot and two made free throws.
• Sophomore/Freshman Anthony Leal recorded three points, two rebounds, and an assist.
• Senior/Junior Rob Phinisee contributed two points, four assists, three rebounds, and two blocks.
• The four assists were a season-high for Phinisee.
• Redshirt Senior/Redshirt Junior Parker Stewart had three assists and two rebounds in 18 minutes.
• Sophomore/Freshman Khristian Lander had one rebound in seven minutes of play.
