Brathwaite Selected As Big Ten Track Athlete Of The Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Big Ten Conference announced their first indoor track & field Athletes of the Week of the season on Wednesday afternoon. Indiana Track & Field's Rikkoi Brathwaite was named the men's Big Ten Athlete of the Week.
The reigning 60m Big Ten Conference Champion competed at the Hoosier Open this past Friday where he captured first place in the 60m with a time of 6.54.
Brathwaite's time of 6.54 was anew personal, school, meet, and facility record. The time also broke the Big Ten Conference record in the 60m. He also holds the fastest time in the NCAA and it's the fastest time in the world so far this season.
A native of the British Virgin Islands, 6.54 is the country's record in the event.
Brathwaite and the rest of the Indiana squad will back in action on Saturday, January 15 when they travel to Michigan for the Simmons-Harvey Invitational.
