Angela Arora Earns Third Place Finish at Dixie Amateur

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Inbound Hoosier Angela Arora finished third at the 2021 Women's Dixie Amateur Championship with a 72-hole score of 280 (70-68-72-70; -4) at the Palm Aire Country Club Cypress Course over the weekend.
 
She finished one stroke out of second place and five shots behind the winner, Latanna Stone.
 
Her first round, played on Thursday, consisted of four total birdies. Three of her birdie conversions came on the front nine, including back-to-back efforts on No. 5 and No. 6. She carded a 1-under 70 in the opening round of the event.
 
Arora closed the tournament with a 3-under 68 after sinking six birdie attempts on Friday. Four birdies came in the final nine holes as she charged up the leaderboard to finish in a tie for second place.
 
The third day of play consisted of a 1-over 72 after connecting on a pair of birdie attempts. In the final round, Arora knocked in three total birdies, including back-to-back conversions on No. 11 and 12, to secure a 1-under 70.
 
The Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, native was one of six players to play under par for the tournament and was one of only three golfers in the 110-woman field to play under par in at least three of the four rounds played.
 
She joined Alexis Florio in signing her national letter of intent during the early signing window.
