Nofoagatoto'a Tabbed Student-Athlete of the Month

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University defensive lineman Sio Nofoagatoto'a was named the IU Scholar-Athlete of the Month for August.

"Sio found his stride with challenging coursework this semester," said Allen Kohn, IU's assistant director of academic services for football. "His effort and subsequent performance in the last month were outstanding, and it was fulfilling to see him so determined about his success in the classroom. We are proud of his ability to connect with professors and take advantage of his resources and feel he is starting to strike that perfect balance between his academic and athletic responsibilities. His success this semester will prove beneficial in the semesters to come."

Nofoagatoto'a appeared in all 12 games and was a constant on the defensive line for the Hoosiers this season. He amassed 13 tackles on the season, with at least one in each of his final five games. He logged a career-high-tying four tackles against Rutgers and added his lone tackle-for-loss of the season at Penn State.
