Day One of Hawkeye B1G Invitational Complete for IUTF

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The first day of the Hawkeye B1G Invitational in the books for Indiana Track & Filed. Anna Watson led the Hoosiers Friday night picking up the silver medal in the pole vault.
Watson captured silver in the pole vault Friday after clearing a height of 4.05m (13' 3.5"). Kara Deady finished in 10th with a height of 3.75m (12' 3.5").
Dom Day lead the way in the men's long jump for the Hoosiers. Day leaped a personal best mark of 7.25m and placed fourth overall. Also competing in the long jump, JaiQuan Earls advanced to the finals where he placed ninth with a mark of 7.02m (23' 5"). Kynton Grays also competed in the long jump where he placed 16th with a distance of 6.80m (22' 3.75").
On the women's side of the long jump Paola Fernandez-Sola captured seventh after garnering of a mark of 5.89m (19' 4").
Mahogany Jenkins had a top-10 finish in the high jump. Jenkins placed ninth and cleared a height of 1.63m (5' 4.25". Jenkins also competed in the long jump where she notched a distance of 5.26m (17' 3.25") to finish in 16th.
The Hoosiers return to action at the Hawkeye B1G Invitational tomorrow beginning with the men's pole vault at 1 p.m.
