Postgame Notes
February 17, 2021
• Sophomore Trayce Jackson-Davis secured his team-leading ninth double-double of the season (21 career) with a Hoosier-best 20 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Jackson-Davis has scored 20-plus points in 12 contests this season.
• The Hoosiers hold a record of 17-4 games with a TJD double-double.
• Senior Aljami Durham scored 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the floor. He was perfect from both the 3-point line (2-of-2) and the free throw line (4-of-4) in 31 minutes.
• Durham passed Hoosier greats Isiah Thomas (968 career points) on the all-time scoring list. The Lilburn, Ga., native has scored 970 career points, good for 54th in program history.
• Redshirt sophomore Jerome Hunter netted a career-high 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the floor and 2-of-2 from the 3-point line. He added one rebound and a steal off the bench.
• Sophomore Armaan Franklin scored 11 points on 3-of-3 shooting from the 3-point line to go along with six rebounds and four assists in 36 minutes of action.
• Junior Rob Phinisee finished the game with 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor. He added a game-high six assists, four rebounds and a blocked shot in 32 minutes of run.
• For the second time this season, Indiana had five players tally double-figure scoring. IU also had five players score 10-plus points against Penn State on Dec. 30, 2020. The Hoosiers are now 11-2 (2-0 this season) under head coach Archie Miller when five players hit double figures in the scoring column.
• Redshirt junior Race Thompson scored six points (all from the free throw line) and grabbed five boards in a starting role.
• Freshman Trey Galloway charted three points and two rebounds in 12 minutes off the bench.
• Freshman Khristian Lander grabbed one rebound and handed out one assist in eight minutes off the bench.
• Freshman Jordan Geronimo played two minutes off the Hoosier bench.
• Minnesota took a 55-53 lead with 8:35 to play in the second half. Indiana immediately responded by scoring 18 of the game's next 20 points to take a 71-57 lead with 3:09 to play.
• As a team, the Hoosiers shot 26-of-45 (57.8%) from the floor, 7-of-12 (58.3%) from the 3-point line, and 23-of-30 (76.7%) from the free throw line.
• Indiana topped the 50.0% threshold from the floor for the fifth time this season and first since netting 32-of-56 (57.1%) from the field against Penn State. The shooting percentage is the highest produced by a Hoosier team since hitting 38-of-65 (58.5%) from the floor in a 98-65 victory over Western Illinois on Nov. 5, 2019.
• The Hoosiers have hit 20-plus free throws in seven games this season and have outscored the opponent at the charity stripe in 11 games this season.
• The IU defense held Minnesota to 4-of-20 (20.0%) from the 3-point line, the least amount of made triples for a Big Ten foe this season. Indiana has held opponents to 25.0% shooting or worse from behind the arc in six contests this season. The Hoosiers are 6-0 in those games.
• Indiana outrebounded Minnesota by a count of 34-24. The Hoosiers have outproduced four of the last five opponents on the glass.
• The Hoosier bench, led by Hunter, outscored the Gophers by a tally of 19-5. Indiana's bench has registered 10-plus points in 12-straight games and has hit 15-plus points seven times during that stretch.
• The game saw eight ties and eight lead changes. IU held the lead for 23:53.
