UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Indiana volleyball team won their first set against Penn State since 2012, but could not get the victory as the Nittany Lions won in four sets (13-25, 27-25, 10-25, 18-25) on Friday at Rec Hall.

KEY MOMENTS
• After dropping the first set, Indiana jumped out to a 6-2 lead on Penn State in the second set. The Hoosiers had back-to-back blocks by freshman Savannah Kjolhede and a combination of Kjolhede and junior Breana Edwards.
• Indiana maintained a lead in the second set until Penn State tied it 22-22.
• After ties at 23, 24 and 25, Indiana got kills from freshman Tommi Stockham and Breana Edwards to win the second set, 27-25.
• Penn State used a 6-0 run in the third set to go up 20-9 and win the third set 25-10.
• Senior Brooke Westbeld served up an ace to put Indiana up 3-1 in the fourth set.
• Freshman Grae Gosnell served back-to-back aces to tie the fourth set 10-10.
• Penn State used a 3-0 run to go up 14-11 in the fourth set and won the fourth set, 25-18.

NOTES
• Indiana drops to 2-7 on the season. Penn State improves to 3-3.
• With their 27-25 victory in the second set it was the first Indiana set win against Penn State since Oct. 13, 2012.
• Freshman Tommi Stockham notched double-digit kills for the fifth time this season as she led the team with 15. Stockham added 10 digs for her fourth double-double of the season.
• Senior Brooke Westbeld recorded her second double-double of the season with 16 assists and 12 digs. Westbeld also had four kills and no attack errors on 12 swings.
• Sophomore Emily Fitzner led the Hoosiers with 18 assists.
• Breana Edwards tallied nine kills for Indiana.

"We were up and down. Penn State is a good team. We played well at times, but made too many errors. It's going to take time. Right now we are inconsistent and we need to get more people on the same page playing well together."
