Indiana Volleyball Falls at Michigan, 3-1

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – After dropping the first set 30-28, Indiana came back to win set two, but RV Michigan closed the match in four sets (28-30, 25-20, 17-25, 19-25) on Saturday.
KEY MOMENTS
• The Hoosiers went up 13-9 in the first set on a kill from Breana Edwards. Indiana extended that lead to 17-11 on a Michigan attack error.
• The Wolverines used a 4-0 run to get within two at 17-15.
• Indiana went up 20-17, but Michigan responded with three straight to tie it 20-20.
• A Morgan Geddes ace gave Indiana set point at 28-27, but Michigan scored the next three points to take the opening set, 30-28.
• A block assist by Savannah Kjolhede and Morgan Geddes gave Indiana a set point in the second and Haley Armstrong finished it off with an ace for a 25-20 set two victory.
• Michigan jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the second set and won the second 25-17 to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
• Indiana used a 4-0 run early in the fourth set to take a 7-4 lead on a kill by Tommi Stockham.
• The fourth set was tied 13-13, until Michigan scored three straight to open a 16-13 lead. The Wolverines scored four of the next six to increase that lead to five at 20-15.
• Indiana kept it at five on a kill by Stockham to make it 23-18, but Michigan scored two of the next three to win the fourth set and the match.
NOTES
• The Hoosiers fall to a record of 3-13 while Michigan improves to 4-3.
• Indiana had four players reach double-digit kills.
• Breana Edwards led the Hoosiers with 13 kills and hit .440 for the match. For Edwards it is her ninth match this season with double-digit kills.
• Leyla Blackwell tallied 10 kills and hit .562 for the match.
• Tommi Stockham recorded 11 kills and had reached double-digit kills in 11 matches this season, including in each of the last four matches.
• Brooke Westbeld tallied a season-high 39 assists.
• Indiana out blocked Michigan 9-1, led by Savannah Kjolhede, who tallied six blocks.
• Haley Armstrong led the Hoosiers in digs with 16.
• The first set had 12 ties.
• After allowing Michigan's Paige Jones to record 37 kills and a .406 hitting percentage on Friday, the Hoosiers limited Paige to four kills and a negative hitting percentage on Saturday.
• After allowing 19 kills to Michigan in the first set, the Hoosiers limited the Wolverines to nine kills in set two and held them to a .100 hitting percentage.
• Leyla Blackwell connected on seven of her first nine attempts for kills and hit .750 through two sets.
