First Day of Briar’s Creek Invitational Suspended Due to Darkness

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. – Indiana women's golf began play in the Briar's Creek Invitational on Monday before the second round was suspended due to darkness. Senior Angela Aung is currently leading the way for the Hoosiers as she is tied for 36th place.

• The event was a shotgun start and the Hoosiers had between three and five holes remaining when play was suspended.
• Sophomore Valerie Clancy had the best round for the Hoosiers in the opening 18 as she carded a 79. With four holes to go in the second round, she is tied for 47th place.
• Aung carded an 83 in the first round but is on track for an improved second round as she is 2-under with a pair of birdies with five holes to go. She is currently tied for 36th place.
• Senior Mary Parsons is tied for 74th place and shot an 82 in the first round. She has three holes remaining in the second round and is 6-over.
• Junior Maddie Dittoe carded an 85 with a pair of birdies in the first round. She has five holes remaining in the second round.
• Sophomore Hanna Tanaka ran into some trouble in the first few holes of the second round but has recovered to card a pair of birdies. She has four holes remaining in the round.
• The field includes 16 teams ranked in the top-100 by Golfstat, eight ranked in the top-50 and three in the top-25.
UP NEXT
The field returns to the Golf Club at Briar's Creek at 8:30 a.m. to finish up the second round. The teams will then go directly into the final round of play.
