Celentano Tabbed Honorable Mention
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana men's soccer freshman defender Joey Maher was selected to the Top Drawer Soccer team after leading the Indiana defense to a couple of shutouts in Big Ten Conference play.
The honor is his first of his career at Indiana.
Maher was instrumental in locking down both the Northwestern Wildcats and the No. 11-ranked Michigan Wolverines in a pair of Hoosier victories during last week's action. The Caseyville, Ill., native has started all eight matches this season at the centerback position for a Hoosier defense that has conceded just two goals.
Sophomore keeper Roman Celentano was named an honorable mention selection to the team. The two-time defending Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week posted six saves across 191 minutes of shutout soccer against the Wildcats and Wolverines.
The No. 7-ranked Hoosiers will be in action at 1 p.m. ET on April 4 at Armstrong Stadium in the regular season finale against the Maryland Terrapins.
