Six Hoosiers to Swim for Gold
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 8-ranked men's swimming team will bring back a conference-high six swimmers for Championship Finals at the 2021 Big Ten Championships at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on Friday night.

100 Backstroke – Jacob Steele (first); Gabriel Fantoni (second)
100 Breaststroke – Zane Backes (fourth)
200 Butterfly – Brendan Burns (first); Van Mathias (second); Corey Gambardella (third)

NOTABLES
• Indiana will bring 10-of-11 swimmers back for second swims in the evening finals. Ohio State (12) and Michigan (11) lead the conference in second swims, however, the Hoosiers lead the league with six returning for A Finals. The Wolverines will bring back five Championship Finalists, while Ohio State brings back just three.
• Burns threw down the sixth-fastest time in school history in the 200 Butterfly with a career-best mark of 1:40.36. He will be looking to top the Big Ten Championships Meet record (1:39.28) in the Championship Final later tonight.
• In the 100 Breaststroke, Brown moved into 11th on the all-time Indiana performer list with a time of 53.01, narrowly missing the mark (53.00) set by Cody Taylor to vault into the top-10.
• Kostbade attempted to earn a seed in the Consolation Final in a swim off with Andrew Bornstein (Michigan), but was out-touched by 0.01 seconds for the spot. His time of 53.22 will serve as the top time in the C Final.
