BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University baseball team recorded the team's first no-hitter in nearly 37 years on Saturday night at Bart Kaufman Field, as RHP McCade Brown and RHP Braydon Tucker combined to no-hit Illinois, 8-0. The no-hitter is the first for Indiana since April 25, 1984, when the Hoosiers blanked Rose-Hulman, 6-0.
With the win, IU improves to 13-7 on the season overall and in Big Ten play, while the Fighting Illini fall to 8-12 on the year and in league action.
KEY MOMENTS
• Brown (4-2) earned the win for the Hoosiers, tossing five, shutout innings. Brown struck out nine batters and walked seven on the night.
• Out of the bullpen, Tucker pitched four scoreless innings of relief to earn the save, striking out one, while issuing one walk.
• After three scoreless frames, the Hoosiers scored four runs with two outs in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead. INF Kip Fougerousse started the scoring, plating a pair with an RBI single to left field.
• OF Morgan Colopy followed with a no-doubt, two-run homer that cleared the stadium in left field. His 451-foot shot was his second of the season.
• Colopy came through in the clutch again in the bottom of the sixth for Indiana. The freshman lined a single to right field, scoring two more to push the IU lead to 6-0.
• The Hoosiers added two more in the seventh, one on a wild play that included two errors from the Illinois' pitcher and the other on an RBI single from OF Grant Richardson.
• In the bottom of the ninth, Illinois OF Cam McDonald reached on a throwing error to lead off the frame. Tucker then induced a fielder's choice to get the first out of the inning.
• The righty then sealed the no-hitter, inducing a 6-3 double play to end the game.
NOTABLES

• INF James Espalin made his collegiate debut, earning the start at shortstop. The freshman made a handful of nice defensive plays and also scored a run in his debut.
