
No. 13 Hoosiers Edged on the Road at No. 16 San Jose State, 9-8

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The No. 13-ranked Indiana University water polo team was edged out on the road at No. 16 San Jose State, 9-8, on Sunday afternoon in San Jose, Calif.
With the loss, the Hoosiers fall to 9-13 on the season overall and to 1-9 in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) play. The Spartans improve to 2-12 on the year and to 1-9 in league action.
KEY MOMENTS
• Trailing 2-1 after the first period, the Hoosiers stormed back to take a 5-3 lead in to the halftime break.
• The Spartans scored four of the game's next six goals to tie the game at 7-7 with 6:06 left in the game. The two teams alternated goals before San Jose State's Riley Agerbeek scored the game-winner with 1:50 left in the contest.
• Katherine Hawkins led the Hoosiers with two goals, three assists and a pair of steals, while Zoe Crouch totaled a goal and three assists.
• In goal, Mary Askew made six saves to go with an assist and two steals.
NOTABLES
• Izzy Mandema and Tina Doherty each had two goals for the Hoosiers, while Kallie White also had a score.
• Askew ranks ninth all-time with 308 career saves, three behind Kate Toole in eighth.
