ATLANTA – Junior guard Grace Berger has been named a WBCA All-America honorable mention, announced by the organization on Saturday.
The Louisville, Ky. native is one of 42 honorable mention honorees and one of five players from the Big Ten to earn All-America honors. She repeats as an honorable mention selection from a season ago (2020).
Berger helped guide the Hoosiers to an NCAA Elite Eight appearance and a 21-6 overall record and second place finish in the Big Ten with a 16-2 overall record. She averaged 15.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.1 steals per game and a +2.3 assist-to-turnover ratio this season. She finishes the season as the NCAA leader in triple-doubles with three and became just the fifth player in NCAA history to have two triple-doubles against the same team this season (vs. Penn State).
Berger shot 44.1 percent from the floor and 74.4 percent from the free throw line. She scored in double figures 23 times and had six 20-plus scoring games, where she set a season-high 26 points against Maryland. The junior guard finishes the season on an eight-game double figure scoring streak which included all four games in the postseason. Berger earned All-Big Ten first team honors for the second-consecutive season and was also a Cheryl Miller Award Top 10 watchlist candidate and on the midseason Wade Watch Trophy watchlist during the season.
