IUTF Concludes Time At Big Ten Relays With Four Victories

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – It was relay day for Indiana Track & Field as they concluded the Fighting Illini Big Ten Relays. The Hoosiers went home with four relay victories on Saturday afternoon.
Indiana swept both the men's and women's 4x1600-meters relays. Dustin Horter, Kyle Mau, Arjun Jha, and Ben Veatch combined for a time of 16:41.33 to take the event title. On the women's side, Sarah Schmitt, Jenna Barker, Mikaela Ramirez, and Maddie Dalton ran to victory with a time of 19:33.58.
The women's 4x800-meter relay squad consisting of Kelly Mindak, Hannah Stoffel, Bailey Hertenstein, and Kelsey Harris clocked a time of 8:29.07 to get the win. Aaron Bennett, Parker Raymond, Nick Couyoumjian, and Teddy Browning walked away with silver in a time of 9:25.51.
Browning, Shaton Vaughn, Jha, and Veatch went 9:53.84 in the distance medley relay for the final victory for the Hoosiers. In the women's race, Hertenstein, Natalie Price, Joely Pinkston, and Harris came in second with a time of 11:11.06.
Ben Hibbert, Rikkoi Brathwaite, Vaughn, and William Session combined for a time of 41.03 and a fourth place finish in the men's 4x100-meter relay.
In the field, Nolan Landis placed third in the discus invite with a mark of 50.11m (164' 5"). Nick Lane competed in the hammer throw invite where he took fourth and had a mark of 60.03m (196' 11").
The Hoosiers will return to action next weekend for the Big Ten Indiana Invite No. 4/Billy Hayes Invite. Action is slated to begin on Friday, April 30 and conclude on Saturday, May 1.
